About us

and our story

In 1970, Wendelin Zangerle and his wife Nina took over his parents’ farm in the middle of Müstair. In 1980 the Zangerle family then built a new farm outside the village in Muglin d’Immez. Since the two sons Ivan and Enrico have taken different career paths, one day the family was faced with the question of what should happen to the beautifully situated farm?

After it became known that the existing camping site would close at the end of 2011 for safety reasonsen Ivan and Enrico came up with the idea of building a new campsite from the farm with the surrounding meadow. A good replacement for Camping Clenga would thus be found and Val Müstair could continue to offer this important tourist offer. Ivan, who works full-time as an architect, then took the planning into his own hands after the first positive preliminary clarifications with the municipality and the canton. The final approval of the project was issued on 18th August 2011. Allready the very next day the ground was ready for the first shovel to start the construction works of the new camping. Selina, Ivan’s wife at that time, then took over the management. From the beginning she was able to tackle all operational challenges with a motivated team and create a comfortable place for locals and guests.
Our corporate mission is therefore:

“Preserve a piece of the past & write new stories” – that’s CAMPING MUGLIN.
We strive to preserve the hearty charm of the farm and to link new approaches with it in the long term. Constant innovations are of great importance.

Today, Ivan and Enrico Zangerle are the owners of Camping Muglin AG. Manager is Isolde Christandl. Seven part-time employees help run and maintain the entire facility.
